I will soon update you on this expedition.
Unfortunately we only made it to Camp 2 at 6400m due to very high avalanche danger.
But a lot to learn and share with you
Enjoy the pictures below, while waiting for my story
Dhaulagiri धवल «the dazzling, white mountain» has been showing her real face; Snowy white.
As our kitchen boy said «she don’t want to be touched this season»
And this time we had to listen.
I gave my best, our team at the mountain gave the best, but I am sorry to say my friends; this time the mountain wanted it diffrently; we couldn't make it to the summit.
It has been snowing more than normal so snow was deep, avalanche risks were very high, ropes not enough where needed, and more weather coming in with two cyclones on its way from the Bay of Bengal.
Dhaulagiri Base Camp also had to fight Covid. At the end we were only 15 people left who tested negative. All who tested positive were evacuated out of Base Camp.
With all teams leaving, high avalanche risk and bad weather forcast, combined with less manpower due to Covid, I had to leave Dhaulagiri for this time.
Thank you to all my Nepali friends, all my international friends and all wonderful mountain vibes we had together
Thank you for following me and supporting me!
Merci, thank you, danyaabad to all of you !!
